• The real-life Ronald “Buster” Edwards committed suicide in 1994, at the age of 62.
• The train used in the film in the robbery sequences is not the Number 37 like that in the real Great Train Robbery, it is a (reconstructed) Number 40 train. The locomotive was not a ‘Number 40′ it was a ‘class 40′. The reference to being a ‘number 37′ is incorrect (a ‘class 37′ locomotive is a lesser powered loco from the same builder. Proper details are given below: The locomotive on the train involved in the Great Train Robbery was an English Electric type 4, class 40, locomotive number D326 (later 40126). By the time the film Buster was made D326 had been withdrawn from service and scrapped. Sister locomotive D306 (40106) – which was also withdrawn but had been preserved by enthusiasts on the Great Central Railway near Loughborough – substituted in robbery sequence of the film, which was filmed on the locomotive’s home ground on the GCR.
• Despite this movie taking place in England during the early to mid-1960s, the film features absolutely no music by ‘The Beatles’ (qv). This was not through lack of trying. ‘Phil Collins (I)’ (qv) reported in an interview in 1988 the filmmakers received permission from all three surviving Beatles, as well as ‘Yoko Ono (I)’ (qv), to use songs by the Beatles. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow plot

• The lives of reporter Polly Perkins and her ex-boyfriend, Sky Captain Joe Sutton, intersect. For the past three years, large robots have been roaming the Earth, taking what they need, and vanishing as quickly as they appeared. Joe and his technical assistant Dex have been investigating and battling these mysterious robots. Meanwhile, many of the world’s scientists have been systematically kidnapped. A Dr. Jennings, believing that he is the next target, tells what little he knows to Polly. His beliefs are that a Dr. Totenkopf, who has not been heard from in over thirty years, is carrying out a project he started prior to World War I, this project which may be associated with these robots. Polly and Joe, with Dex, join forces to find Totenkopf, which may not be easy due to their still antagonistic relationship. As they piece together Totenkopf’s plot, Polly and Joe realize that stopping him from carrying out his grand plan of creating his version of a Utopian society may not be as easy as killing him.

• FAKE: While running through the woods from the zombies, one goes flying through the air, as this happens you can see the spring board come off of the ground and into the shot.
• CONT: When the “Lazarus V” anchors at a shore where there is no landing stage. Later Simon jumps from one when he tries to swim out to the boat. It is clearly a different location.
• CONT: When the characters are shown in bullet time in the long shootout scene, they are almost invariably holding different weapons than they do in the rest of the scene. It is impossible that they would have sufficient time to switch weapons multiple times.
• CONT: Kirk leaves his ship and appears on land shooting at the zombies in the water. Yet he is not wet at all.
• FAKE: When Cynthia is shot by Casper, the impact sends her flying. If you look closely you can see a harness under her skirt and over her shoulders (under her blouse).
